I have a confession to make. Miss Cookas is not my real name.
Nor is it just a name that I use to keep my identity secret in my blogs (although that is kinda fun!)
Miss Cookas is the nick name that my beautiful Grandma and Aunties gave me when I was a tiny, tiny person. I couldn’t even guess when, or why, the name arose. But I’m glad it did. It is very me. Quirky, funny, warm, endearing. And Random.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been Miss Cookas. Or, as my Aunty spells it, Miss Cookers.
I was blessed to spend my childhood as an only child with a single parent. I had my Mum (and best friend), and I had my imagination; a magical combination. I would play wondrous, enchanting childhood games. To anyone watching, I was alone. To me, I was surrounded. I created my own little worlds. I created lives, and friends. When I played shops: I was the shop keeper, and the shopper. I played every character in the book of my imagination, and it was heaven.
I was even more blessed when my Step Dad came into my life. I was 9 when he and my Mum got married. The guy was so fun, I didn’t even care that I had to share my precious Mum with him.
When I was 10, I became a big Sister. Then again at 12. Then again at 14. It was a whole new world. Suddenly, I got to swap my baby dolls with real life, moving, smiling versions. To say that I was in my element is a gross understatement. I was, and still am, besotted with the little people my Parents created. Even though they are far from little these days.
Now, alongside the most loving, wonderful husband a girl could ever ask for, I’m about to embark on my own adventure.
Yes.
It’s time for Miss Cookas to start her own collection of lovely little people.
You are welcome to join me on All The Sunny Mummy Days.
What a sweet, well-written About page!
Thanks for following my blog! I hope if you can find the time that you will stop by my page called “Reasons to Smile” and leave a comment. It’s a list of things people are thankful for, just to encourage each other. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
